Tom Devlin’s Plan 10 Pictures is moving along through post-production on Devlin’s fourth feature film, The After Dark, and he just couldn’t wait to share this teaser trailer with you!
The After Dark is the story of two warring clans of Vampires and what happens when one jumps clans from the stuffy old world to the fun punk rock nightlife that takes place at The After Dark club.
“It’s the movie I always wanted to watch since I was a teenager. It’s Lost Boys vs. Interview With A Vampire. It’s filled with punk rock music, youth gone wild elements, and just a touch of Buffy.” says Devlin.
The film stars David “Gangrel” Heath as the leader of the old world, Vigo, and Sinn Bohdi as Dax, the lead punk at the After Dark club. After 30 years of experience being the vampire Gangrel in WWF, WCW, ECW, WWE, and AEW this is Heath’s first time both playing a lead role and vampire in a feature film.
The wrestling roster doesn’t stop there. The film also stars WWE superstar Paul London, indie wrestlers Leroy “The Human Tack Board” Patterson, Wes “Beast the Butcher” Logan, as well as several up-and-comers.
“I used wrestlers to amplify the scale and scope of the fight scenes in this movie. Working with the budget I had, it’s easier to work with talent that can double as their own stunt coordinators, and trust that nobody gets hurt” says Devlin.
This dark tale is hosted by legendary punk icon Lars Frederiksen (Rancid, Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards) who serves as the Shakespearean chorus. The cast is rounded out with Daisy Ducati, Matt Osborn, and introducing Ashley Ballou as Beth.
“Ashley was an unexpected choice as our leading lady had to back out at the last minute. Ashley jumped to the occasion, learned all the fight choreography, and delivered an incredible performance exceeding our expectations.”
The film was directed by Tom Devlin who wrote the screenplay along with Lola Devlin, and Josh Cornell. Kayla Bushell and Tom Devlin produced, with cinematography by Corey Klier.
